Welcome to another edition of Recently Released Recordings. As with the Upcoming Gigs, I wanted to get this post up and done over a week or so ago. Alas, life caught up with me and I had other things to do. I released a bunch of recordings these last few weeks and I have been posting all of these links in my shows page so if you are impatient and want to hear some music now you can always go there before I post here. I did also add a bunch of links on that page and plan to continue that with shows that were posted a long time ago. I will also add playlists for my videos soon and post them in the shows page. It is time for another edition of Recently Released Recordings. Since my last post I have released many recordings and have done a few updates to this page. With that, I want to thank Monny of Syndicate of Scattered Thought for the new logo, bobsmith of mc chris LIVE for recommending a button maker and Courtney for helping me come up with color schemes for my buttons. I have also started to use my twitter and Facebook to post shows so feel free to add me on either of those, since I usually post on those before I post here. Without much further ado, here is the list of the shows:
09-10-09: 10th & Commerce at the High Dive in Seattle, WA
10-09-09: Eli Porter and Fresh Espresso at The Comet Tavern in Seattle, WA

So it has over 6 months since my last post. My plans for trying to get a show done about once a week didn’t really pan out well but I have managed to release several shows on the Live Music Archive and posts videos on my youtube. I have also taken down my old theme since I felt that I didn’t want it anymore and wanted to go with something simple till I can find someone whom is willing to make a WordPress theme for me. If you do have some suggestions for this site please feel free to contact me. I would also like to take the time to thanks Z of Hipster, please! for posting my nerdy related concerts on his blog. I really appreciate it. Anyways, here are all my recent shows on the Archive:
I have also released two complete sets of videos this year on my youtube. The first set is the Optimus Rhyme 2007-08-23 show and the second is My Parents Favorite Music 2007-08-26 show. These are my favorites from each set respectively:
I love many things about taping, but one of things I hate the most is the weird fans/concert goers that I meet at the shows. This show has one example of such occurrence. During the first act, Joe Gould’s Secret, I noticed the fan that I am going to talk about. At the time, he was just relaxed and not bugging me or anyone else. During Dig the Particulars’ set, his attitude changed a little bit (more than likely due to alcohol). I was filming their set and he came over a few times to dance around me and even peek over my shoulder to see what I was capturing. I pretty much just ignored him and let him do his thing.
It was during the Water Babies set when everything changed. After they finished their first song, this guy went on stage acting like he owned the venue and tried to kick the band off the stage. Jason (the trumpet player) handled him well and told him to give them a chance. About the third song into the set, the guy came over to one of my microphones located on-stage and decided to “play” with it (he moved it around to face the crowd). I abruptly stopped him and moved it back towards the band and gave him the gesture that he shouldn’t be doing that. About a few minutes later he did it again. This time I talked to him about it. I tried to tell the guy he should not be playing with it. He wanted to know who owned it and I said that I did. He said he just wanted to play with it. I tried to tell him that I using it record but he didn’t seem to grasp that. Eventually my friend Aaron moved in and took him away from the stage to the bar. For a bit everything went OK. Towards the end of the set this guy showed up one more time. He tried to get on stage again but Jason just kicked him off this time. He decided to sit on the steps to the stage and lean his right arm on the chair that happened to have my recording bag. He had a very firm grasp on the chair and I had to watch him like a hawk just to make sure he didn’t knock over anything. Eventually, security came over and told him to leave but he wouldn’t budge. It took three security guards to pry him from the steps and kick him out the door. For the rest of the night everything went good.
As far as the music, all of the bands did a great job. The show was hosted by Kyle “KOZ” of nadamucho. Joe Gould’s Secret had a folk, almost jam band sound with a spice of hip-hop. Dig the Particulars did a great rock set. Both the Water Babies and Pocket Change played awesome jazz sets. I would definitely like to record all of the bands again (of course, I hardly miss a Dig the Particulars show so they really don’t count). The Dig the Particulars set should be up on the archive soon and the rest will end up here.
Am I the only one disappointed that #apple didn't update the original iPod? I mean you think they would give it more space or a newer os.06:23:22 PM September 01, 2010from web
